Edgewood Mayor Ken Brennan is a community leader, Navy veteran, successful businessman, and candidate for New Mexico State Representative.
A product of New Mexico’s public school system, Ken Brennan enlisted in the United States Navy immediately after high school. For 20 years, he served our country, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.
After retiring from the Navy, Ken worked in the gas turbine and wind turbine power plant sectors, working his way up to becoming a Service and Resource Manager, leading a staff of more than 230 employees. He eventually retired in 2023.
When Edgewood citizens had the opportunity to change the governing structure of their community, Ken was a leader advocating to give residents a voice. In 2021, after the town voted to change to a Commissioner-Manager government format they elected Ken to serve as a Commissioner.
After serving as commissioner for about a year and a half, Ken was selected amongst his peers to serve as the town’s mayor. Ken is currently in his second term as Mayor of Edgewood and has a proven track record of delivering for the Edgewood community.
As mayor, Ken has been a forceful advocate for Edgewood, fighting to secure critical funding for infrastructure investments and opposing state overreach from Santa Fe. Under his leadership, Edgewood is revitalizing its downtown, improving road conditions, and securing crucial resources for first responders. He hopes to bring the same prosperity and growth to the people of New Mexico’s 50th Representative District.
Ken serves on the North Central Regional Transportation Board (NCRTD) and Mid Region Council of Governments Region Transportation Board (RTPO) as the board Chair. Ken and his wife, Debbie, are proud to call Edgewood home. High school sweethearts Ken and Debbie have been married for 42 years and are members of East Mountain Cowboy Church in Edgewood.
